If the OG is too heavy or not heavy enough a formula below will help add or reduce the grain required for your own personal taste!

Example:

Current OG 1037 (3.8% abv)                          Total grains 4,300g (100%)

Required Gravity: OG 1050 (5.1% abv)

Formula:     Previous grain weight x New OG – (always take off the first two digits off the OG!). Then divide by Old OG

Change the OG:     (Required OG 1050)

4,300g (Current Grain) x 50

Diveded by 37 (Current OG)

=5.811g  (Total Grain Required for 1050 OG 5.1% ABV)

Hope this helps Happy Brewing.
