Our Home

My home means a lot to me. We have designed it to suit our tastes and ideas. It's nice to have somewhere to get away from the stresses of the working day and just take a breather. But as well as being an oasis of peace, my home is also a place for friendly get-togethers.

We are surrounded by Shipley Country Park and Nature Reserve with a total of 6 lakes and woodland to walk around. You can lose yourself all-day! This area would have been part of Sherwood Forest many years ago.

The Garden is very private and the wildlife amazing. Herons, Ducks, Wood Peckers, Turtle Doves, Wood Pidgeons,Black Birds, Thrushes, Swifts, Nut Hatches, Gold Finch, Blue Tits, Bullfinch, Wrens, Robins, Swifts, Jays, Tree Creepers, Magpies, Wag Tails, Coal Tits, Crows Hedgehogs, Squirrels, Foxes, and the occasional Sparrow Hawk that hits me on the head when I get in the way. That’s the beauty of living so close to a Country Park and Nature Reserve! Also they are well looked after! In the winter months we get Wax Wings that come and feed of the berrys.

We have the Peak District within easy reach for good hill walking and towns like Buxton, Ashbourne, Bakewell and Matlock to do a bit of shopping and sight seeing.

Nottingham and Derby are 10 miles away for a good night out. Nottingham for the Restaurants and  Derby for the Pubs!

Woolerton Hall and Park - 15 minutes from home offer a fantastic day out with Nottingham’s Natural History Museum, Roaming Deer, Lake, Gardens, Coffee Shop and in the Summer Open Air Pop Concerts!
